In seveda izbrane glive, ki so zvezde te predstave! Za izdelavo biorazgradljivih materialov, v na\u0161em primeru mikomaterialov, uporabljamo <strong>micelij, ki v kalupu izbrane oblike tvori 3D vezno mre\u017eo<\/strong>. Micelij je vegetativna struktura glive, sestavljena iz mre\u017ee drobnih, razvejanih, nitkam podobnih struktur, imenovanih hife. Micelij v naravi raste v razli\u010dnih organskih podlagah, vendar najve\u010dkrat v zemlji ali razpadajo\u010dem lesu. <strong>Micelij se razveji in i\u0161\u010de hranila in vodo, da lahko raste celoten organizem<\/strong>. Stamets v svoji knjigi Kako lahko gobe re\u0161ijo svet pravi: &#8220;<strong>Verjamem, da je micelij nevrolo\u0161ko omre\u017eje narave<\/strong>&#8220;.
