At MYCOPOR, we are developing innovative solutions that combine advanced engineering with natural materials. One of our latest projects is the myco biocomposite hybrid wakeboard, representing a major step toward a more sustainable future in watersports.
This concept integrates recycled composite materials (GFRP) with advanced reprocessing techniques, focusing on improved material impregnation and structural performance. The result is a lightweight, durable, and high-performance product suitable for demanding sports applications.
Mycelium Inside – Nature as Technology
At the core of this innovation is “Mycelium inside”.
Mycelium—the root-like network of fungi—acts as a natural binder, transforming organic residues into strong, lightweight, and fully biodegradable composites. These materials are grown from agricultural by-products such as sawdust, hemp, or straw, without the need for harmful chemicals.
This approach delivers:
- 100% natural and eco-friendly materials
- Low-energy production processes
- Fully biodegradable structures (no microplastics)
- Excellent strength-to-weight ratio
